Simply, crossing are pre-arranged large parcel transactions done by the buyer and seller through a broker at an agreed price. When a crossign happens it shows it on CSE but the retailer ( us) does not have access to a cross as it done out side our order books.

Just to add to previous posts:

* Minimum value for a crossing is now Rs 20 million

* 5% limit applies on downside price at which crossing can be done
- e.g. if share closed previous day at Rs200, lowest price at which crossing can be done today is Rs190

* No such 5% limit on upside price
- e.g. if share closed previous day at Rs200, can even do a crossing at Rs250, which is 25% above closing price

Well in a large parcel crossing, remember there are 2 sides. Buyer wants to buy low but the seller want to sell high. SO they both need to agree to a price.
