Yes thats what I said when I saw ALLI EPS!
http://www.cse.lk/cmt/upload_report_file/341_1305281508.pdf
Rs 63.93 EPS for last quarter alone! NEt assets per share Rs 577!
Illiquid stock as very few in market and trading around Rs 900 now! A share that should be over Rs 2000 easily but neglected!

Yes very attractive now. March quarter every year bring higher profits though. So best to not expect same for next quarter .
But with overall performance this is still very good.

Hi, Rajitha - Agreed, ALLI is a good company.

But I'm a bit slow on understanding how you got the figure of Rs 2,000. Would you mind explaining? Thanks!

Considering its illiquid and the market PE ratio! I have been saying people to buy the share who ever cared enough to PM me around Rs 900 last few weeks! This + RENU+ DIMO! except for the best plantation stocks!
Well lets see how the future winers appreciate in price and if people can realize to let go of the manipulated worn out stocks!

Abt 30.7% revenue growth from last qtr..
Operating income got more than doubled..
Expenses show a small increase..

If Loan Losses & Fall in value of investment Provisions were a bit decreased their EPS would've got increased more than this as it was a abt 16% increase over last year value.
Interests on FDs & Tbills have come down abt 31.9%
Year ended EPS is 109.77

NAV is 577.43 compared with last year figure of 470.77

Total Assets 8,163,475,613
Total Liabilities 7,228,044,620
Hence Book Value = 935430993

No of. Ordinary shares – 1,620,000
So BV = 577.43

ALLI last close was = 883

Then PBV = 883/577.43 = 1.53

Looking at the ratios finance companies trade its should be at least 2X the PBV..
So This would worth minimum 1154.86 (577.83*2) and max I expect is 1732.3 (577.83*3)

Highest price traded duering this year is 1100 as per the reports..Since January 2010 this has nearly been a 3 bagger stock

Public share holding was 39.11%, cannot say much illiquid but its hard to get since ppl dont sell much..

At 9:29 this morning ALLI was a good undervalued share. As at 10:50 it's just another illiquid thats lost touch with it's fundamentals

lol! lol! lol!
People should learn to understand the stocks at initial stages than go type the same generic stuff and getting behind same manipulated worn out stocks thats are trading at forward PE over 20 when they are worth not more than PE of 8!!
OFC ALLI is a company thats worth over PE ratio of 20! Its up to the investors to decide if its so or to follow the same old promoted crap!

Rajitha, I agree with you. If someone wants to be successful in this market, he/she should identify stocks like ALLI before the crowd does.

There is no point in going after same old winners thinking that they can do it again. I also did this mistake in the past.

The usual lack of comphrension is evident in the post written by someone who claims to be a lecturer. Please note that earnings have gone up by 40% and the share price has appreciates by 65%

We don't know yet whether this earnings improvement is a one of thing or something that's repeatable. It was only last week that many people got their hands burnt thinking some results are repeatable when they clearly were not.

As stockswatch says, if you think a company has good prospects you need to enter early and hold. However Rajitha did buy in early. And he was very generous to share his finding and repeatedly urge the others to buy in early.

Buying after the price has jumped by even 30% is usually not a smart thing to do, but here we are looking at a 65% jump

OFC its not as undervalued as it was before after the price increase!
But I believe the share has still more room to climb! Just because share price appreciated by 65% does not automatically mean its over valued! this is because the share could have been vastly undervalued in the past which was true to ALLI if you check its stock holdings and the finance sector room left to grow!
For example companies like CFVF can go by 200% and still be greatly undervalued. Some stocks have fallen out from the investors radar because of certain reasons and rectifying these things could mean a huge price jump although its not reflected in the earnings improvement! Thats why you have to analyse each company in its isolation for its perks and potential ! Then you can do a PE comparison with the sector to get a good idea where you stand!

Hey Rajitha, great call and its nice to see that finally that others are seeing why you are going "Holly Crap!" I just hope you have loaded up enough of ALLI. Its amazing the lag between the release and the price action. I guess it just shows that all the information you need is generally available in the public domain. Its amazing how caught up some of people are in the "game" stocks and can't see real oppertunities. Thanks for sharing your insight Smile

Today ALLI has gone too high for its earnings..
I'd say the max value for this is 1800.. So there may be still room to buy..
but at this price we have to be very careful as we could buy now and see its falling to 1200 again.. A run may start again but for how strong it could be is the question.

Yes smallvile, as I already mentioned we need to be cautius. This result is a short period after the company returned to profitability, such results tend to be spectacular and as many people found to their great cost with chickens, they are usually very hard to repeat.

I must hasten to add that I think Rajitha made an excellent find. I am just cautioning people to think twice before entering a share that has shot up 65% in a day. Sure it could repeat the doze again tommorow but do not enter without a stop less target.

I also must give credit to Rajitha for two reasons:

1) For highlighting the sudden change in the share
2) For picking a most apt header for this article

Due to the sudden interest in the share I happened to read the Annual Report for 2010/2011 and it was very much what Rajitha mentioned - 'A lot of Holy Crap'. Worst report I have read so far. It speaks about every thing else properly but the Company. Keep that a side, based on the AR it has done well as stated by almost everyone.

I went through the valuations of their investments in PLC's and found that the valuations have not been done, partially done or purposely done. Ex: See the HHL value of 20,400 shares at a purchase cost of Rs. 126/= and the valued @ Rs. 120/= as at 31/03/2011. I see that they are trying to mislead the investors purposely to show less profits or evading taxes or both.

I do not have time too value every thing on the BS but those who want to invest see their true potential please check those hidden figures before you invest.

I am not stating that you should not invest or to invest.
