As you are aware SEC has started a program on Rupavahini to promote/educate people on the CSE. Of course this is a marketing way of bringing in new money to the market. What I don't like is that the present market is not good for a person to enter suddenly and invest. Many new comers and even others would be in a losing streak during the past few weeks and months.

I feel SEC must do its best to prevent malpractices in the market if any and make it a fair place to invest before bringing in new money. Combined with the brokers of present, these new 'investors' are bound to lose money at least in the short term which will eventually drive them away quickly.

Open for discussion

This is a very good topic.

I watched the entire program last week. Even though it was the introductory session, one thing was obvious that is their main objective was to open large number of fresh accounts which in turn introduce fresh capital by the innocent parties. Educational wise they were lethargic and broker firm representative tried his maximum to say that there is no difference in advice to retailers and the big investors. Do you agree in practice with that representation?

I invite people who got burned to tell their stories (with facts and examples) so that new comers don't get burned too specially from brokers. Then SEC will immediately stop the feature where people can ask questions live. Smile

Yes that is what i saw too - they are trying to grab more retailers + money that's it - one of my frnds had a bad experience when he tried to sell his 5000 no of shares of SIRA - he has repeatedly called this broker firm and ask them to sell his shares since he is not doing much share deals, but nothing happened at the end when he called one of the brokers had told him that they have lot of other big deals to do we have no time for small amount ( this is a true story and i will reveal the company if you insist)

This is pathetic Evil or Very Mad

abosulety.
there are many brokers who do not give consideration for people who invested small sums. their attitudes are disgraceful.
further the environment is not safe or fair for an inexperienced new comer.
on the other hand SEC wants more new people with their money.
real irony.

it's like asking people to buy new cars without making proper roads.
