@Jason - Im currently calculating on that. this will totaly (say80%)depand on corona penitration in srilanka. if corona goes like in italy u dont need my advice ne. market will come down to 3000 levels

i told prior to Corona even , Softlogic group is having some cash flow issues. How ever now they have decided to cut employees salary by 40% also stop the bonuses. Remember bonuses pay through past earnings ,so its not ethical to this cut.

Sri Lanka’s Softlogic has cut salaries of top executives between 20 to 30 percent, as curfews imposed to curb Coronavirus disrupted business and hit cashflows.

Salaries of employees getting below 50,000 rupees have not been cut.
Bonuses and overtime has also been suspended.

“This measure is an initiative that you will no doubt concur with as we steer the Group during turbulent times to avert the potential high incident of retrenchment that may otherwise become unavoidable during the coming months,” Chairman Ashok Pathirage said in a note to staff.

“At this moment, we will do our best to control what is within our ambit with foresight although there is little we can do to mitigate factors beyond the control of human intervention.”

Right now its Covid-19 decides and not politicians until an antidote/vaccine is found. Its a challenge to the whole world, b'cos life cannot return to normal till the threat exists.

Srilankan airline started loss making before Covid-19 problem since O/L failed CEO from king family.That is nothing to do innocent employees who don't desrerve to a salary cut. Evil or Very Mad

for me softlogic is very risk and high debt with continue loss. even Asiri also profit reduced.
hope now they can not buy more...

I think Softlogic will end up bankrupt. I don't think it can survive in the post COVID environment. Ashok is trying to buy his own shares to boost confidence, but it is not working. This company looks like bankruptcy in the making due to its high debt
