This gave us a good profit,I also noticed people collected this at 8.80 also.we don’t know anything about deal or future price appreciation.compare other stocks this really had a reason to rise up.collecting or holding up to you guys.anyway it’s really good habit to realize profit when you have(telling with past experience)

A share which consolidates usually have a support and a resistance level and does not give opportunities for trading. It will be trading with a small price gap. (ideally 10 cents to 20 cents)

After the consolidation it will breakout. It can be either positive or negative and when you are investing at a consolidating stock you need to be careful and study the fundamentals of the company so that you know whether this has a reason to go down or up.

So when it comes to GLAS, Yesterday within first half hour price went to Rs.6.70 as @Engineer predicted due to profit taking of retailers who might have purchased below Rs.5.

Then it climbed to Rs.7.30 where a resistance is seen. Due to resistance price dropped but there was a good support at Rs.7.
That is why i said share is consolidating.
We could confirm this is on Monday. If this is indeed a consolidation my view is that share price should move up and not down because share price’s upward movement was backed with strong financials published

Additional Information:
*Almost 110Mn shares traded above Rs.7.20 (13th - 16th)
***For the last 30Days total volume traded was around 220Mn
***More than 50% was traded above current market price
****No director selling (PAP and RAL directors realized their investments at good prices to that of their purchase price)

I agree with @hiransilva23 - When there is a good gain, better to realize profits because from my experience majority of the stock market moves that way. Hence, if you sell with good profits there is a possibility of buying back too at a cheaper price. It might happen or not happen yet i too am of the view that better to sell if you have a thumping profit. Market will definitely will not fail to give you another opportunity

Fully agree Eranga. If the sale announcement is out, GLAS share should be adjusted to sale price towards 17+

Nevertheless, based on their financial performance alone, GLAS must move above 12-15 levels.

What is your timeline expecting the immediate target of 15+?

Yes. we need growth stocks. AGREED.. GLAS potential very clear. it perform well like EXPO. good dividend most benefited to shareholders. my brocker told, it better to hold atleast 2 months till few announcemnt coming. he also said next qtr and another qtr superb performance.

Something interested i just picked while going through the Annual Report and Interim F/S.

The total free float available for public as at 30th Sep is 203Mn. Traded from 1st to 16th Oct is roughly 198Mn (Nearly 100%)
Shares Traded above current market price is nearly 110Mn (50% of the Free float

)
*Technically not many share holders left with profits to sell the share at cheap prices. I sensed interest in buying in latter part of Friday, if this continues next week, Definitely we can see something interesting.

@stockback - Chairman in the AR and Interims have said that their policy is to give 50% of the distributable profits has dividend. Hence, we could expect a dividend of more than 0.50 cents p/s.
Based on the current business context where they have placed my bet is 0.75 per share.

In India Price to book value of Piramal is 3 as at 14th May, where net asset value is Rs.31 and Market price is Rs.96.

@Eranga87 - In Srilanka, We can not compare GLAS with other companies though it is tagged to “materials category”. Hence, as you have mentioned above Rs.15 (Net Asset Value 5*Price to book Value 3) is reasonable price for the share, Considering how the Indian company’s share price changed with new business opportunities and good performance.

Having said that, there is a long way to go and it depends on market sentiment as well !
