If it is due to the fact that this so called channel is totally bias and discussing about this channel will give unnecessary importance to this channel, then I completelly agree with this prohibition.

REMEMBER GAMES HAVE BEEN HELD IN BIG CAPITAL CITITES WHERE THE INFRASTUCTURE CAN BE USED FOR LATTER PURPOSES AND MOST CITITES HAVE HAD FALL OUTS POST SUCH GAMES LIKE THE OLYMPICS, WINTER GAMES AND EVEN THE COMMONWEALTH GAMES... hAMBANTOTA IS NOT A DELHI OR A BRISBANE,,, IT WILL NEVER BE.....

CWG at Hambantota means having party on borrowed money..they are planning to spend billions on this and present various theories to justify this.. but how can you believe.

Lucrative Cricket board also now asking 2 billion from us (Tax) for their daily expenses.
At Dambulla stadium we don't even play one international match per year. Because Dambulla belong to dry zone we have to spend lot to maintain the ground.I see no difference in Dambulla and Hambantota.

very good point wiki. we'll have more credit to settle as a country at the end. there are much cheaper ways to promote the country image.
