ASI to reach 9000 in 24 months

I was not joking when I told you the ASI will eventually reach 9000. There are few more step before the market achieve that milestone.

-We need few more listing of large size companies on the CSE. These should be some of the state owned enterprises. This is the only way the Government can turn the private sector into the engine of country's growth.
-We need Political stability.
-We need to stabilize Rupee against all major currencies, maintain other key factors such as interest rates, inflation etc
-We need to consolidate international relationship with super powers of the world.
-We need regulations to prevent financial and other economic disasters.

Regarding political issues, Newly elected BJP Indian Government last week strongly declared that it will not support any UN probe against Sri Lanka. This will really discourage other western countries as all other Asian super powers like China,Russia,Pakistan and Middle east countries are already against such resolution to be conducted in punitive manner.

I agree with you about Sri Lanka becoming an important hot spot in economic map. Experts already  recommend to sell Singapore assets and Buy Sri Lankan. After few days of the recommendation, we saw Singapore based private equity firm Calamander group willing to double their investment value in coming years.

Recent entry of US based Templeton fund in to HHL is also a positive sign, We'll see to which highs the CSE runs this time.

If economic relationship with India turns into a stronger one in coming years, We will see more and more Indian firms coming here for business.

We had interest rates at more than 18% for some period before 2009, and stock market down hill. This was the exact time when most foreigners and local HNWI bought stocks and later sold in 2010-2011, so history repeats and people like you ready to sell down till ASI down to 4000; then I,m more than happy to buy such attractive stocks as It s highly likely that they can end up with multi baggers when the cycle reverses. I don,t think we will be able to enjoy high interest rates for longer period."


Above was my reply to your article mentioned below, in 2012 i.e 2 years back, But ASPI didn't come down to 4000, but only down to 4800.

Do you think ASI 9,000 possible in 24 months? Quibit, you seems to have predicted well so far.

Easily. All it has to do is grow by approx 12% each year.

If the ASPI ends at 7200 this year, and grows by 12% next year, it will be 7200+864 = 8064. If it grows by another 12%, it will be 8064+968 = 9031.

I watch silently for long time ( member from 2011) and from time to time I like to get active here to keep forum in track.Else there will be no
forum left.

First lets give credit to SLequity ( it is due to him and everyone should give credit when due ) who predicted ASI to be 7000 this year in this forum when people were so worried in January when ASI was something like 5900.

Then I like to hear from GMNet his/her view now , as he/she tried to make scared people at CSE more scared by saying ASI will reach 6600 in 20 years or something when market was heading badly . ASI was around 5800 then if I remember.

With interest rate cut, market turned positive and many have predicted upward milestones. But 9000 predicted by Quibit is highest and widest so far.

Sorry. I differ.

The real predictions are that people make when market is very bad , nothing positive is really there and nobody is really around . Same goes to stock predictions. When share is low and no one is interested , who analyzes and presents are the real predictors. When a share prices increases by 30-50% ( like now days) , then there comes 100 of miracle predictors , who bought at higher prices, and now trying predict even higher prices to pass it to new people.


I remember here, when ASI was 5900, people were predicting dooms day , sentiments very down, and very few was in CSE and forum as they were scared market will crash. Then to boldly analyze and make a prediction market will go to 7000 this year itself , a rise of 15% when market returned so little in 2012 and 2013 was a fantastic prediction.

I hope you are not trying to take away credit from a person ( SLequity) who helped this forum and did good to CSE. Let give credit when credit is due please. We should not be ungrateful right?

1) said this in june when market was picking up trend and people were more confident.
2) said it will reach 9000 in 24 months from June. That is 2016 june.

2016 june is long time. This is not much of a prediction. I predict 9000 will come in 2015 itself.

Better analyse the trend at least on monthly basis.
We never know what changes might occur.
Having said that the current sentiment is very positive.

Now I could believe Quibits prediction. All based on fundamental analysis.

looks very good.but friends interested to know which shares will go up equally with the ASI

What do you think about the China's reaction. Can we expect a freezing of Chinese funding to Sri Lanka? What impact that will have on th economy and the stock market?
